    Description

This World War I era postcard folio comes complete with the original 24 postcards. The set is entitled,
"Le Kaiser au Mont Notre-Dame, 17 Juin 1918."
The folio comprises various historic scenes of the Church at various stages from the pre-war era through its complete destruction by the Germans in early August 1918. This folio also contains scenes of the German Kaiser Wilhelm II visiting the church in June 1918 during the occupation of this area in France. The introductory page is in both French and English. The set was sold to help fund the reconstruction of l'Eglise.
I have been unable to locate another set that is complete, although I have seen a number of the postcards being sold individually.
This folio is from a relative's box in the family basement. This relation served in WWI and was a part of the U.S. Occupation Army immediately after the war. He brought back various items such as this.
    The set was edited by
    Nougarède
    &
    Lestrat Soissons.
Please examine the photographs and email me with any questions. Thanks.
