Very Rare Original pre WWI French production by army order, combat trench Shovel and leather carrier.

This is an early model army trench shovel and carrier made in France before WWI. It was used on Bulgarian battlefields during WWI. As a German ally
the country was supplied almost entirely with German equipment. But this is not the case with these shovels – before the WWI Bulgaria ordered army shovels made in France by Schneider & Cie.
The model of the shovel is similar to German, different from the French, apparently the order was special,
rare and interesting model and production.
After the wars shovels were kept as iron rations in a military store house. Years ago that on went in a private collection.
The metal base part is marked with company's logo : "S" two crossed cannons and the year 1907 below.
I assumed the shovel was for artillery troops, but after a long research we found that this is the logo of the French company Schneider & Cie. Historical evidence is that, the metalworking empire of Le Creusot around 1815 it was bought at auction by Joseph-Eugène Schneider, a blacksmith, and his brother
Adolphe
Schneider.
The company was founded in 1836, according to the history of Schneider Electric (see Wikipedia). The company logo is known in the early 20th century and is found on many metal and army products. In the early 20th century, the company placed a large order of shells for the Serbian army, shovels may have been ordered. And during the WW1 they were taken as trophies in the Bulgarian royal army. An interesting century-old history.
The leather carrier is in 100% authentic condition .

Shovel is in great authentic condition.
Wooden handle in perfect state despite the years. Full length: 50cm / 20 inches.
Over 100 old ! Very interesting find and makes perfect addition to models and reenactors' uniforms.
