The newest name brand ladder is better, but not by a great deal and much more expensive. This ladder is great, well made and reasonably priced. The locks have been redesigned to be much more user and pinch free and the insulators that contact the ground and the top areas are well made and prevent scratching or damaging surfaces. The extensions aluminum on aluminum slide works smooth and moves easily. This is a big improvement over the ladders sold by discount tool stores. Overall this is a well designed ladder, especially considering the price, for most most uses. I really like mine and highly recommend it.
